Along The Way a Smile

I met you along the way, somewhere I do not remember,

You smiled in passing – That smile I will never forget, for as the rain was falling so were my tears. You brought delight from deep inside; your smile was one of comfort and acceptance, how could I not smile back.

You brought the memory of joy, I had to find another Smile for my life.

Each time my deep heart is raining, I think of you and know, I must go find my smiling friend.

Yes, it’s been my dogs – they always smile. My Dog always accepted my mood, my raining eyes, my broken heart, or a friend that had gone.

Whatever was left in my life, my dog understood.

Whatever came in to live with us, my dog loved and accepted.

Now it’s time for a new Smile, maybe in August or September??

We can never replace a Dog, we must find anew!
