RE: Compassion. That is a long standing issue with everyone who goes to CoDA. Each person has to figure out where the line is for themselves. Giving to and caring for others is indeed compassion but if it deprives or oppresses ones self it is codependency. Yes it needs fuller discussion but, for me, that needs to be in the future. I now have a tripwire in me that goes off when I cross the line; very helpful but not infallible. Barbara Conroy

My grandparent and father have always been, the important people in my life, and taught me about respect for others ,for nature, for animals and most of all woman!
The way is was put to so I could remember was this way ” Respect her like your mother. Protect her like a daughter. Love her like a wife. There are the thoughts of a good man “. Oh I loved my mother as well, just never saw very much of her! I understand nature and animals far better then I do men, woman are woman and they are the most interest humans of this planet. Equal, no!, for men have still much to learn and learning most of the time is right there within arms reach!

Thank you for sharing. And I do not see long responses as negative. We all have something to say and it needs to be revealed; wondrous how most people feel and yet so many times they feel alone in these feelings.
I am here to say, none of us are here alone and it’s time – through this wondrous online venue to share and have the connectedness we all desire to each other.
It is very apparent to me when I read from people, where they are at in life. Some still really hurting, and the grief is consuming but yet so important to be with yourself in those moments. Others are in many a different shade of colour and I appreciate everyone’s input, although some do not wish to be public and that boundary I do not cross.
