The Decision – To Be Happy [day 3]

Recovery from any injury is a Happiness goal! Here are some pointers to help everyone get started to Happiness.

Gratitude, in relationships makes us Happy. I allowed a guest to arrive really late last night. She was incredibly Grateful and Happy! This allowed me to sleep late the next morning, when she left. Happiness!

I wrote an Appreciation Letter about an employee at Sprouts. They gave me a $25 gift certificate for the simple recognition. Happiness!

Later, after a days’ worth of work, I took a nap with my cat. He likes to stare into my eyes. We are Happy together! He quietly enters the bedroom, jumps on the bed with the sweetest meow, looks at me with twinkling eyes, lays down next to me, slowly closing his eyes, and (!!) purr-motor sounds off. The Purr-motor relaxes me. Happiness!

It was really hot today, my apartment has great working air conditioning. Gratitude = Happiness!

What I am describing is, “recovery”= re-finding what works in your life.

When a Soldier is injured in war, they come home with TBIs – PTSD and a host of horrible memories.

Soldiers are physical people – they require “Physical” Therapy. The physicality changes the mood and mind set of the brain. The response is no longer in the warped memories of the past, rather of the present creating a positive future response. Transformation means: a soldier is not regurgitating the horrible memories [continually] in their head, instead, learning a new skill in life to replace old memories.

Need some ideas? Rock or Mountain climbing, Biking, Hiking, Surfing.

You say you are disable?

Then watch this documentary – “ResurfaceResurface is a documentary about military veterans who use surf therapy to cope with PTSD and transform their lives. Watch these severely wounded soldier change! Happiness Activities!

Dopamine – Our brain is our own pharmaceutical.

I’m a cerebral person, my happiness comes from being creative, using my brain to solve problems while observing behavior. Writing my findings, being with my Arabian horse, my Blue Heeler dog, and French cooking are (some of) my Happiness skills.

Also, each day I must be productive and achieve a set goals, whether that be a new skill or, as today, setting up my new web site’s design. I worked for 5 hours doing something I have no clue as to what I am doing. I asked lots of questions and was successful. Happiness!

My brain fills with Dopamine.

The creativeness becomes enterprising. Time to invest in meeting new people. Having TBIs, most often we lose all our friends and more. There are over 7 billion people on this planet, I am sure to find a few new Happiness Friends.

Right now – Happiness calls for a nap with my cat.

Day 1 September 1st, The Decision! We teach ourselves how to begin again; creating and rebuilding new skills ameliorates damaged brains. Day 4 is coming up!
